Aotearoa New Zealand is working towards a low-emission, climate-resilient future, with commitments to emissions reduction targets for 2030 and 2050.
As sustainability becomes a global imperative, New Zealand Story proudly introduces Aotearoa Net Zero, a campaign which places the spotlight on businesses that are making tangible strides to reduce their carbon footprint and champion sustainability.
The collection of short films will feature over 60 New Zealand businesses across a wide range of sectors and will be profiled on social media. From industry titans to smaller regional enterprises, these companies are leading the charge in their respective fields, demonstrating action in the pursuit of a sustainable future.
Many have been award recipients or finalists including the New Zealand International Business Awards Excellence in Sustainability, and the Deloitte Top 200 Sustainable Business Leadership award.
“Sustainability and climate-resilience are not just buzzwords in New Zealand,” says New Zealand Story Chief Executive David Downs.
“We want to show the world that New Zealand businesses are on the journey to a more sustainable future. We’re not at the end of the road - there's still a lot to be done. But the launch of Aotearoa Net Zero shows a strong commitment to both our people and our place.” Downs says.
New Zealand businesses are utilising cutting-edge technologies and innovative approaches to reduce their carbon footprint. From turning plant-based resins and wood waste into ZealaFoam®, or Compostic’s guilt-free, home compostable cling wrap, Aotearoa Net Zero showcases companies making substantial contributions to a better future.
