Every year on 6 February, New Zealand marks the signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, The Treaty of Waitangi in 1840. In that year, representatives of the British Crown and over 500 Māori Chiefs throughout the country signed New Zealand’s founding document.

The Waitangi Day Campaign has been created for New Zealand Government agencies to download, share and use the creative content at events with an overseas audience or on social media.

Social Story

A short video has been created for social media to mark the signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, The Treaty of Waitangi.

Watch the video here and share from our YouTube channel or download from the toolkit (login with your government email address to download and view the assets). There are 1x1 and 9x16 formats, as well as Mandarin and Japanese translations available. There is also a blank video to download and add your own captions for other languages.

Use infographics on social media, in presentations, and at events to highlight New Zealand’s history, culture and society.

Posters and Banners

A number of Posters and Banner artwork files are available to print in-market for events.
